In the case of wildfires, Alberta has had it pretty bad in the last decade. 2011 was the Slave Lake fire which demolished the town:

Then we had the 2016 Fort McMurray wildfire that I'm sure pretty much everyone remembers.


In 2017, the Kenow fire ravaged Waterton National Park (the best of the mountain parks in Alberta IMHO).

And last year's wildfires in BC led to this meme:




Now in 2019, we've got this one near High Level, while another smaller fire closed the Yellowhead highway for about 10 hours on Sunday:

To be fair though, High Level has always had some sort of fire, every summer.

This is just the largest, and the closest to town in a long time.
