Some of the men I drink with at the Legion on Remembrance Day are also fans of the author James Clavell, and especially his novel 'Shogun'. We often make up a language similar to Japanese on these occasions, and actually get drunk enough to understand each other in that language.

And of course, there is always Karaoke, and the drunker people get over the course of the day, the more often they sing 'White Cliffs of Dover'.
