My doctor has been telling me this for years, so it's nothing new, but why is this even necessary?

A tool kit for for Indigenous populations is being planned.
They tend to react badly to extra carbs in their diet. Lots and lots of diabetes in first nations people.
And I agree, when I first started to pay attention to the old Food Guide, I tried to eat the recommend servings in a day, and gained a lot of weight.

Canadians in general need to be cautious of diabetes, not just indigenous people.
If people, including FN, actually follow this new guide, it shouldn't be an issue, because at least 1/2 of their diet would be fruit and veggies, with very little processed carbs.
