I'm looking into my sports crystal ball right now.

Ommmmm...

'I see seats at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa.

I don't see bums in them.

I see the Ottawa Senators moving to Seattle.

I'd say move them to Quebec, as long as Melnyk's no longer the owner because he'll just take the already existing organizational chaos along with him.

I think San Jose got Karlsson for a song, because most of those draft picks won't be worth a damned thing when they finish in the Top 2 or 4 teams over the next couple seasons.

Funny how no one can decide who won the Max trade, but everyone is sure
Ottawa just got hosed really bad.

Can you imagine LA trading Drew Doughty for some draft picks and prospects? Heck, even Montreal was smart enough to get Shea Weber in return for PK Subban.

If it wasn't for cap space, a lot of teams would have made that trade in a heartbeat.

The only way this deal turns to a win for Ottawa is if those 'prospects' turn into stars like Karlsson, and the odds that two of them will are long shots.

They may turn into players in the Top 9 or even top 6, but even that doesn't replace a two time Norris Trophy winner.

I'm listening to the Vancouver sports radio guys discuss the trade.

They're talking about how Vancouver could have beat that offer.

Then another guys will say, "Sure, lots of teams could have beat that offer but then they'd have to consider Karlsson is a free agent in a year so is he going to sign an extension? And even if he does what's he going to be like in 6 years and at what price?"

True. It's like llamma suggested. They gave up their best chance of doing that to Colorado.

Jack Hughes could be elite. They had good odds at getting him. Now they don't have a prayer.

This franchise has been synonymous with mismanagement from its inception... From drafting Alexandre Daigle to the Alexi Yashin ordeal, to Eugene Melnuyk. The team needs a hard reset.

I do feel bad for Craig Anderson. Nice Guy, horrible situation.
