I'm with you BeaverFever.

I'm so sick of the general population being infected with "blind, stupid hate". Yeah, your initial response to "that &#%$ tried to kill 3 people, he deserves what he gets" is normal, and it's simple. And for any simpleton who wants to profess to know something about the world, politics, justice etc, but isn't willing to actually dedicate the time to learn, that's enough. The old "my common sense is just as good as your book smarts" bullshit.

But intelligent people should take the time to move past that impulse (the same impulse animals have), and logically think about, and then solve the problem in the smartest possible way.

And so, it makes sense that this man's psychosis has been cured in 2 years? That's amazing. Psychosis is pretty life long, but you seem sure this gentleman has been rehabilitated and is now magically a productive member of society. I think Daniel Keyes once wrote a story about this...

When I was in college many years ago, there was this guy in my class, we were learning about Naval Architecture, the lesson was about electro-welding. He was smart. Very Smart. However, he couldn't grasp why you don't get electrocuted when you are standing on a plate trying to weld with electricity. He couldn't grasp the concept of being grounded. Book smarts is not the end all be all you imagine.

Your post sure uses a lot of words to say nothing, So, oh great member of intelligentsia, oh wise one who's wisdom and intelligence outshines even the mightiest of suns, what is your solution to this topic?
