According to news reports, one of Rupert Murdoch’s mansions has burned down so I guess there’s one small silver lining.

It was probably insured for 2X the actual worth.

What gets me is the way the wind is gusting. It looks impossible for firefighters to even be able to maintain a perimeter around the fires. The terrain and amount of available fuel to keep them burning doesn't help.
