Thanos Thanos:
Did you consult with James Inhofe and his Magic Snowball to come to that conclusion?

The writers of that article did.

In any case I'm not sure I'd need Inhofe's snowball joke to tell me Thanos is upset about some imagined trees.

I might need magic to figure out why though.

Bah! What good do those trees do anyway? Nothin' for no one!

Yeah, fuck trees! Lets cut em all down!

Apparently there's more of them than there were before we began fertilizing the planet and we can continue to replant the ones we use, like the good stewards of the environment we'd like to be.

So yeah, why tamper with success?

Now, if we could just get those idiots to stop chopping up rare birds with their wind turbines.

N_Fiddledog N_Fiddledog:
OK, so let's review what we've learned so far.
There is no need to review any numbers nor debate any science fiction peddled by the professional parasite liars carrying clip-boards wearing lab-coats and spectacles.

If Man-Made_Glow-Bull-War-Mongering-Change was real and man-made, there would be at least 1 lawyer on the face of this Earth taking advantage of such awesome proof by suing somebody somewhere in a court of law.

$1:
TEMPERATURES PLUNGE AFTER AUSTRALIA’S BUREAU OF METEOROLOGY ORDERS FIX

Date: 04/08/17 Graham Lloyd, The Australian

Recorded temperatures at the Bureau# of Meteorology’s Thredbo Top automatic weather station have dropped below -10C in the past week, after action was taken to make the facility “fit for #purpose”.

A record of the Thredbo Top station for 3am on Wednesday shows a temperature reading of -10.6C. This compares with the BoM’s monthly highlights for June and July, both showing a low of -9.6C.

The BoM said it had taken immed#iate action to replace the Thredbo station after concerns were raised that very low temperatures were not making it onto the official record. Controversy has dogged the bureau’s automatic weather station network since Goulburn man Lance Pigeon saw a -10.4C reading on the BoM’s website on July 2 automatically adjust to -10C, then disappear.

Later independent monitoring of the Thredbo Top station by scientist Jennifer Marohasy showed a recording of -10.6C #vanish from the record.

BoM initially claimed the adjustments were part of its quality control procedures. But bureau chief executive Andrew Johnson later told Environment Minister Josh# Frydenberg that investigations had found a number of cold-weather stations were not “fit for purpose” and would be replaced.

The BoM has admitted that, in addition to Goulburn and Thredbo Top, stations at Tuggeranong in the ACT, Butlers Gorge and Fingal in Tasmania and Mount Baw Baw in Victoria would be replace#d.

An in-house investigation that includes two independent experts has been called. The bureau said it rejected allegations aired in some media outlets that it had sought to tamper with temperature data.

It has been reported online that electronic smart cards were allegedly fitted to the BoM’s automatic weather stations, which put a limit on how low temperatures could be recorded in official weather data. The BoM declined to comment ahead of the internal review.

“The findings of a review into this matter will be made available after completion,” a BoM repre#sentative said. “We do not intend to publish detail prior to that.

“The AWS program is part of the observing systems and operations program, separate from the climate areas.”

On her website yesterday, Dr Marohasy said it was not the recording# devices that were at fault. “To be clear, the problem is not with the equipment; all that needs to be done is for the smart-card readers to be removed,” Dr Marohasy said.

“So that after the automatic weather stations measure the correct# temperature, this temp#erature can be brought forward firstly into the daily weather observation sheet and subsequently into the CDO (climate data online) dataset.”

Mr Frydenberg rejected any suggestion that he had prior knowledge of smart cards or the cause of problems which made the stations not fit for purpose. He said he only learnt of the issue with the weather station readings when it was raised by The Australian.

Sea levels rose by 7" during the last century. Data reported by NOAA says the ocean is rising by 3.2 mm per year now, so that means 12" over the next century. Well, 12 is greater than 7, so the rate is accelerating. But it isn't as much as climate warriors claim.

There are other reasons. Bart is right, one reason is diversion of fresh water so salt water can intrude upstream. The other thing is tectonic movement. There are places where land is rising, and places were land is sinking. There are ancient Roman ports now under water, but oceans have not risen far enough to do that. The reason is land sunk. An island off Japan sunk. The 2011 tsunami that caused meltdown of the Fukushima power plant was caused by an off-shore earthquake. Shortly after I heard it was magnitude 9.2, but now web resources say it was between 9.0-9.1. That was caused by a slip that made land drop.

One of the links in the story says sea levels have risen by 8 centimetres since 1992. Well, NOAA says it rising 3.2 mm per year, so 25 years means 80 mm; that's equal to 8 cm. So that just confirms what NOAA said. That's 320 mm over the next century, or 12 and a fraction inches. That starts with 2 significant figures, so after conversion to inches round off to the same number of significant figures.

So to the one scientist who claims sea levels rise by 2.5 to 6 feet over the next century? I say "Get stuffed!" (Quote from Crocodile Dundee.)

The real issue here is climate is always changing, some people just don't understand grade school science. Grade school told us about ice ages and interglacial periods between them. Some people think that's just in a school text book. I got news for them: it's real and we're living it right now. We're in an interglacial period. That means we're still warming out of the last ice age. Glaciers are remnants of the last ice age, they're still melting.

And continents are still moving. Very slowly, but they're moving.

And yes, there are species of tree that thrive in salt water. Don't mangrove trees in Florida's Everglades grow in salt water?

Exactly, the climate is always changing and therefore climate change is normal.

Thank you for recognizing my observation on salt water intrusion. [B-o]
