Reading that quote you posted my first thought was, "That sounds like someone describing the Ontario Provincial Police union".
People could be talking about the colour of the fall leaves, and you'd think it was about the OPP. That's why Lemmy was concerned earlier.
Considering how much damage the security apparatus in this country has done, more should be thinking about these agencies. These should not be "growth" agencies with lifetime employment and ballooning budgets, especially when so many covert operatives are employed to surf the web and chase rabbits.
Toronto and Ontario are both showing anemic growth in their economies, while the questions are not answered "what value are citizens seeing with such large invesments?". Without a doubt, the downward pressure will come, we already see the TPS in a hiring freeze, that's a start but long overdue after two decades of political pandering and paralysis in the face of obvious unsustainable fiscal abuse.
I am sure businesses are just knocking down the door to invest in Ontario though, what with the lowest corporate tax rate in North America and a highly educated population. For whatever reason(s) they aren't.
