Meh, in a couple of days the Euro Commission will find the money for his bribe,
a meaningless change will be announced, and the deal will be signed.

Nothing will stop the EU, they won't even let the Brits leave.

7500 layoffs announced at Bombardier today but no one gives a damn about those workers at all.

Bombardier deserves to die and its workers' are every bit as much to blame as the bosses. This exactly what you get when you fill your plant with entitled mooks who don't give a shit whether their jobs are properly done. Bombardier is just a symptom of a larger epidemic among Canadian workers. Good thing we're importing some work ethic 'cause there's bugger-all left of it among our homegrown youth.

Yeah, just wait until the union mentality, and the concept of entitlement affects them too.

This is a very important deal for Canada, and Europeans need protections from any abuses that might occur against their companies in Canada. That's the type of free market economy we need. Human Rights and Protections against abuses against their businesses right to self determination.

Oh go fuck your hat! Yeah, we need to worry about some foreign company's right to self-determination in Canada which would in effect, reduce our own right self-determination. You know, like changing laws that might end up affecting a foreign company's profits, giving them the right to sue the country.
Yeah, we need more of that.

So basically you are saying it's better to dictate to businesses than to allow free markets to prosper.

I say Canada gets the economy it deserves then.

The responsibility of government is to provide services to it's citizens; and to provide a fair environment for business to be conducted. There is no requirement for that business to provided with a profit.

And business has shown time and again that it requires a firm hand, or else it will consume itself and everything else in the area in the name of profit.

Wow, very interesting philosophy. I have been telling Americans and Europeans that this has been Canadas policy for decades, I imagine the more outside of Canada that hear this and understand it, the less interested they will be in doing business in Canada. Telling businesses and investors to pony up and throw money away, maybe the government will bestow upon them a few crumbs for their risk if they are deemed worthy.

Who is going to pay taxes to support the same bloated government that decides the winners and losers? I am not sure what sort of system you would prefer, maybe an agrarian system where we trade cattle and oxen for vegetables. Of course, the only successful farmers would be those given the green light by the king. Sort of like the RCMP and OPP determining who deserves natural rights and who doesn't.

I stand corrected, my apologies. Your comment about business requiring a "firm hand"tripped me up.

lol, did he actually write that? It should surprise me but it doesn't if true.

Clinton wins this election, this much is clear now. It's the far left and Bernie supporters who could cause Canada problems.

You betcha!

Ultimately, this is probably going to be a good decision for Europe. Just ask American companies what minimal benefit they receive from the Canadian marketplace.

If the number of successful lawsuits against Canada is any indication, Canada isn't ready for free trade. Better we just become a Second World nation and work our way back out of the muck from there....

Would be nice if our politicians could act professionally, not crying like little girls
during a press conference.

I wonder if this isn't some side bullshit to put the squeeze on the UK.
