PublicAnimalNo9 PublicAnimalNo9:
There used to be a nice creek behind my place. It was a great place to fish for salmon and trout. In less than a decade the water has dropped to about 6 inches deep. It's killing the fishing because the fish can't make it to their spawning grounds anymore. So my wife and I did some investigating and followed the path of the creek out of the city. It ends at a spring close to an area where one of the bottling companies is busy sucking the water table dry. I can't prove it's the cause, but we also couldn't find any other issue(s) along the river's course that would account for the extreme drop in water levels.

That is actionable under federal law. Section 35 of the Fisheries Act. You should pursue that.

Nestle Outbids Township

Root of the problem is WTF are they taking BIDS for public water? The province is actively making it a market commodity.

It's like minerals. The mining companies don't pay for the minerals, they pay for the licence to mine, and they pay royalties. I think part of the problem is our laws and international trade deals that treat corporations as citizens. It's silly. Nestle is not a citizen, it is a multi-national global behemoth, latched onto the face of humanity and sticking its blood funnel into anything that smells like money.
