I think the problem is that if ACA were a proper plan with proper coverage, all the very sick people would be dumped on it and break the govt, while the insurance companies made even higher profits. Even before ACA, people were going broke just on the co-pays if they got a serious illness. One good thing about ACA, afaik, is that it no longer allows denial of coverage due to pre-existing condition.

They should have started from the ground up in building a new system. Barry couldn't get it thru, maybe Hillary could have and still can come next January.

Saw an interesting doc abut Johnson and the civil rights and voting acts. The nation stepped up then, during a time of turmoil, maybe it can do it again. Of course it cost the Dems the south and he had to escalate Vietnam to get the votes, so it cost him the presidency and bled the country for nothing.
