Just thinking that not all provincial government jobs work only in your building. 8)

I know people in other ministries, and it's no different there.

Severe lack of hiring over the last 5 years. Some intergovernment transfers, but few and far between. Certainly not a doubling of the number of employees, or of us contractors like The Great Ezra claims.

Sorry fellas I don't have a dog fucker's gov job and don't have time to surf the net all day, I'm sure we could do without a lot of them if this is a prime example of working your ass of at a Government job.

Really?

Your post is time stamped at 10 a.m., while mine was stamped at 6:50 a.m., so you tell me which one of us is fucking the dog during work hours... :P

I worked on a 9 month contract at Transportation in 2014-15 and back then they were 100+ positions UNDER their mandated allotment of FTEs. That was made worse after they had a dozen or so high level engineers with 30+ years of experience retire and their roles were simply added to other people's duties. Friends I have still working there (and at other ministries) have said it is getting worse, not better. The Dippers may not be slashing employees like Ralphie did (or the Wildrose wants to), but they certainly aren't adding any more than enough to barely function.

People complain about the government and its slow response to issues and events, but that's because most ministries are way below their mandated staffing levels and people are overloaded trying to keep their heads above water.
