The military type weaponry is more for protection from the government where as a hand gun is protection from a citizen(or illegal).

The driver would have been charged for using a firearm in the commission of a felony (hit and run).

Personally, I'm pro-gun, even pro-open carry, but not in favor of guns openly displayed at protest rallies.

I'm opposed to masks such as Guy Fawkes, balaclavas, hoodies with scarves and burkas at them too.

Different national character, different founding constitution, and a place that's defined by an actual real external threat and not a pretend one the US sees in China, Russia, or even Mexico. And, to put a fine point on it, the Israelis are smart enough to not let a destructive minority in the Muslims have any legal access to firearms at all.
