Yes or smuggled from the US of course. Half of Canadian crime guns are smuggled from the US...

That's all? I suppose we're losing market share to China, aren't we?

Yeah the smuggled guns sold in back alleys don't come off a boat from China. They come off a car or tractor trailer from the US.

Well...you guys have definitely lost share in the legal firearms market, but the illegals still come from the US.

Not that it is your fault, it is really just a proximity thing. Our thuglites can't drive to China in the afternoon, and be back on Finch by the evening. Although, if they could, I'm sure they would.

The cross border reserves use to be a good source of American firepower.

Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders told reporters in December that police had seized 11 machine guns,

Those didn't come from the USA.

I dunno. I've still got legally purchased Chinese SKS. Picked them up in Calgary in 2003 for about $200 a piece. They are stored incredibly securely. A buddy of mine who was a former bosn' and in charge of small arms gave them a thorough going over and tips. They were manufactured in the 50s.

I got an SKS in Afghanistan for $20. 8)

Most do. A lot of the fire arms recovered in Canada are older models, purchased on the used market, before being smuggled in.

At least 1 of the machine guns was a TEC-9 that was tracked back to the US, and had been purchased (originally) in the late 80's. I am not privy to the make, model, and tracing of any of the other 10.

Biker gangs too. Sons Of Anarchy was over the top in terms of family drama/trauma but on the basics of their daily crime activities it was pretty accurate on the firearms part of things.

.

What are you talking about, the entire article is about the flow of guns from the US. It's even in the title.
