Average - but he could look at places below average. And don't they have people renting out their basements in Toronto? Think about it - where do the individuals who only get $700 a month go? There must be cheaper accommodation than a 1200 a month hotel room.
Trailers for rent? Being serious, I know I've considered it a couple of times myself. Down here its pretty viable and a decent solution.
It is. It's entirely affordable and logical if one accepts that the trailer will never appreciate in value the way a house will. Most trailer courts, the regulated ones anyway, are actually pretty decent places to live. Thanks to a certain Canadian comedy and the antics of too many white trash hillbillies there'll always be a social stigma to living in those places though.
