$1:
“She told my sister she just wanted to go outside for fresh air and she just took off,” Uriel Brown told a news conference Thursday of his daughter’s disappearance.

Maybe she went to look for Allah.
You know, snow, sand, it all looks the same.

But her bipolar disorder and paranoid schizophrenia only worsened.

So, the normal reaction to studying then.

Christians have done it. Everybody knows that. It's been front page news.

A Muslim can do it too. Did you know that? Or did the whining when the news got posted at all drown it out?

Relativism. Heard of it? It can be you drown a complaint out by pretending it doesn't matter because everybody does it. So to speak.

What it really is in that case, is whining that somebody dares to mention the thing they don't want others to know about.

It's curious that it doesn't work both ways. It's a big deal that some Priests were caught molesting children. We all know that. It was front page news. However when you're allowed to hear Imams also do it, or by conviction rate teachers are probably the worst offenders you will hear, "Wah! Priests do it. The implication is - so this time it doesn't matter. It's all relative." It wasn't relative when the priests did it though.

Perhaps you should worry more about the Priests diddling little boys rather than the coverage the other religious leaders get for doing a similar act.

Teachers are religious leaders for you, are they?

Whatever, then OK, yeah, that's my point. If the teacher does it, we will be told "well so do Priests so it's all relative." It doesn't matter.

So institutionalized kid diddling doesn't really matter there according to magic think logic, because it's all relative. Nothing matters. However, when the Priest does it, well yeah, that is all that matters and we all must immediately "worry more" about that.

Now me, I say it's a heinous act and becomes news no matter whose doing it.

I was referring to other religious leaders. Teachers aren't that.

It does matter, you're just butt-hurt that priests get more attention for being a disgusting piece of shit more than the other disgusting pieces of shit.

Oh, so you would prefer we just ignore them then, just as you would prefer we didn't mention this story in the OP.

See I don't get why you and Andy are so worried people might learn facts like the one in the OP. Is it just because this time the story concerns a PC protected religious group.

What's with this fixation on priests all of a sudden? Strawman much?

That was just an example of how a story matters when it concerns one group, but must be ignored according to people like you and Andy when it taints PC favored groups.

You just keep proving my point. It's all relative and doesn't matter if the PC group does it. We can't talk about that.

If it's a scattering of individuals within a group representing traditional society however, then "OMG the world is coming to an end." That's all that matters and how dare we notice anything else.

A friend of mine almost died because she wasnt allowed the blood transfusion she needed after giving birth...

Religion is a weird thing...

My godmother became voweless Jew, in her late 20s. She remained a devout member up until she turned 64,when she had a heart attack and required a new valve a la piggy. The Church she had done so much for turned their back on her, including her own Mother in law. She started attending Catholic services again.

Horrible that people do that to each other. How can you turn your back on someone who never turned their back on you? Someone you love?
Brainwashing. Bah.

Good on her!

When it comes to this all religions need a reality check.

Well, no. Most religions aren't antipathetic to modern medicine. Only a few smaller sects. The Christian Science people seem very decent except for not believing in medicine. Seems to me Islam was actually at the forefront of medicine at one time. I don't think the Catholics have any problem with it, nor most protestants. I mean Christians and Jews have sponsored hospitals that do very good work. I would be surprised if most Jewish sponsored hospitals wouldn't use pig parts if that's what's required. Just all religions have their fundies who have to take things to an extreme.

This is just some nutbar. You get them in all religions.

True, Islam once upon a time was at the forefront of medicine and science, I'm sure in some places that may even be probably still true, but their fundies have pushed that culture into their Dark Ages from which they have yet to emerge.
