Nah, just your garden-variety life-long loser. I probably still would have managed to fuck everything up even in a fair system :|

Jabberwalker Jabberwalker:
COUGH!COUGH!

I think that it is feckin' hilarious ... sensors that detect guvvermint emissions measurement equipment. Oh, those clever technokrauts ...

You can just imagine the size of that conspiracy.

Someone has to think of the idea to cheat the entire system.
Someone has to approve, and make formal proposals.
Software developers have to be told to do it.
Put resources, time, money, people, into this solution.
Testing, retesting, stealing technology from the emissions guys on the US.
Further resources into hiding all the tech from the government, and others.
All approvals across the board to implement this solution.
Make the concrete decision to break the law and put it into production.
Hundreds of people involved.

Probably don't tell the dealer network, or even the mechanics.

Hold your breath.

Actually, things in Europe probably won't go far. The amounts of permitted NO is much
higher then in the US.
The easy solution is to reprogram for emissions controls on all the time.
However, that will drop the fuel economy by a lot, and the resale value of VW diesels
in the US just dropped by a ton.
If you anyone that has one, SELL IT NOW !

I work with a guy who drives a VW diesel and he gushes about what a "green" vehicle it is. I reminded him that winter diesel has some seriously nasty poison additives in it so that it doesn't get waxy in the cold.

Meanwhile, at VW Headquarters....

You might want to remind your friend that the engine produced the most pollution at it's most
economic consumption levels, 10 to 40 times the EPA limits.

So while he may been saving a few bucks on diesel, he was in fact shitting up the rest of us
with sky high Nitrogen Oxide levels, and particulates.

resulting in diesel cars emit around 20 times more nitrogen oxides than petrol cars.

You might ask him to get on his knees and beg a little forgiveness.

Did you hear about the new VW Minibus? Seats 2 in the front, 2 in the middle, 2 in the back and 94 cremated in the ashtrays.

So in short this means I get to have another laugh at the expense of liberals who bought one of these leftish-appealing vehicles with the intent of "doing something" about global warming!

ROTFL

Instead of gloating like a moron at people who tried to do the right thing and make the world a better place, you should be castigating the greed-hungry execs who thought this would be a good idea.

Just another example of the pathetic partisanship of some boobs here at CKA.

Par for the course with you and your hate-filled bunch I guess...

I think what he's trying to get at is to never, ever try to do anything that is right for your environment. Never try to improve your world if you think that you can play even a small part, because some big company will only turn it against you and use it to screw you over to make a buck. It's their nature.

I can't wait and this could be a good time to buy a Volkswagen that isn't diesel because since dealerships can't sell them they will be hurting for business.

The people who buy diesel thinking they're doing something good for the enviroment are no different than those who buy Hybrids.

Hey, that's your prerogative, but it just further proves my belief that Christians can be just as big (if not bigger) assholes as the rest of us.

No. I've just come to the realization that what it takes to truly be a Christian is not something I'm interested in.

Do I still go to church? Yes.

But that no more makes me a Christian than going to a hospital makes me a doctor.

Because that "what it takes" is delusion? It's hard to be religious when you have even a rudimentary grasp on things like history, allegory, science and common sense.
