Kettling and PWPA are two different contoversies. Kettling is a controversial crowd control and mass arrest tactic that Blair is ultimately responsible for, other government officials are unlikely to have been so closely involved .
But really these scandals should be internal to progressives. I suppose conservatives can try to capitalize on this but that would just be opportunism on their part. Conservatives were all for the heavy handed security tactics (as usual) and unsympathetic to the plight of protesters, media or others on the receiving end because as they said at the time, these people "should have known better" than to go near the security perimeter, especially once stories about "black bloc" and vandalism started emerging.
Without the PWPA there would be been no kettling nor any misunderstanding.
Blair, a now Liberal candidate, was responsible for the misinterpretation of the law and not clarifying it to his men and women when it was realised.
No need to deflect away from your beloved Ontario Liberal Party, Beaver. It's OK to admit they fucked up from time to time. They all do.
