It's not supposed to be scary. It's a temperature graph based on the instrumental record. It is what it is.

Although that may change for you guys now.Apparently it is now OK to openly and dramatically simply imagine old years becoming cooler and recent years becoming warmer. It will then become true...amongst a small group at least. Perhaps you can make that graph say 2 degrees soon.

See what I mean? One moment you say the temperature has gone up 1 degree in a century, and in the very next pararaph you imply the data is all fudged.

Look, these guys smeared land surface temperatures over the arctic ice. Then they simply added warmth to buoy temperatures they prefered in spite of the fact there is nothing they notice now that hasn't been noticed before and dealt with by other scientists.

They just came in before an upcoming climate conference and made old temperatures coolers, then more recent temperatures warmer to magically make an inconvenient pause in global temperature rising conveniently disappear.

You don't have to be a scientist to listen to what some scientists are saying who oppose this policy and agree with them.

I don't see how it is "agreed upon." If the data are unreliable--as you are saying--then you can't agree on anything.. If you agree that the temperature has risen, then you are saying the data are, to some extent, reliable.

I don't see how it is "agreed upon." If the data are unreliable--as you are saying--then you can't agree on anything.. If you agree that the temperature has risen, then you are saying the data are, to some extent, reliable.

It was generally agreed upon as the best we had based on what was available. Admittedly that wasn't much, however arbitrary changes that conflict with previous adjustments dealing with known issues to achieve a preconceived outcome of making an inconvenient fact disappear are not.

The data has been fudged for this press release. There's no way around that.
