andyt andyt: Don't say that, it will deprive him of doing his best Maybe, one day, my best will be sitting on a computer on a forum like CKA. A forum that I will visit with the intention of trolling but then decide at a later date that I want to push my agenda's. I will push agenda's in which I have zero credibility. I won't get off my ass, I will advocate, anonymously on an Internet forum.

BeaverFever BeaverFever: People that poor are more likely to take transit/walk/bike/carpool already and the infrastructure that supports that will inevitably grow over time in reaction to increased prices. The closest bus stop here is 33km away, I could walk or take a bike but that turns into a 66km round trip everyday. You people that live in a city just have no clue. I guess we just fold up rural Canada and ALL! move to where there is public transit.

Keep on driving, just pay a bit more for gas (and home heating etc) to help the environment and get it back in higher government revenues that can be put back into the economy. Maybe if gas gets too high, it will make you consider just how much vehicle you need vs want. It's a good thing.

You pay more to make a living so the city folk can get free transit and the homeless all get free housing, food and everything else.

Do what you want, but it's agendas. That is all you have left. Correcting grammar. It's OK andy, let the rest of us carry the load and do the heavy lifting. You sit there and pretend to be making a difference.

You're not entitled to demand that the rest of society pay for it. Life is about choices.

Nor should those who choose not to live in cities like Toronto be forced to pay, so the city peanuckles get cheaper transit.

Work was 1 km away. Closest bus stop 60km and it's Greyhound. $35 to go the nexy 100 km to a specialist or denstist, etc. Same distance to the train. Which is cut to 2 days a week and stops beside a sheet metal shop where the guy makes his employees plow a parking spot and trail because Via won't. Airport's 180 kms. And I'd love to move back to the city. But the house I grew up in just sold for $1.4 MILLION. We already have a carbon tax here in BC Havem't even noticed it amidst the greedy price gobbling of the Oil companies, natural gas and Hydro.

Poor people not able to get to work anymore, the better off struggling to stay afloat. Carbon tax will be the ruin of us all.

So let's remove the subsidy on public transit. People chose to live in the big City, they can pay for big City services. Pony up.

Pony up. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif) Add to that, how about the big cities like Toronto get their property taxes in-line? How much would you pay for a house worth $400,000 in the following cities? Ajax = $5243.17 Brampton = $4505.33 Markham = $3326.03 Mississauga = $3633.48 Pickering = $5207.35 Oshawa= $6362.68 Toronto= $2892.03
