So far it looks like a good deal.

It reminds me of the nuclear deal that Bill Clinton struck with North Korea and that deal worked out just the way I expect this one will.

Good news, I'd say.

Not really. Keep in mind this is the same jackass who knowingly traded five terrorists for an Army deserter who's now facing desertion and treason charges.

A prisoner exchange is the same as Nuclear disarmament? That's a stretch even for you.
I have to admit I was waiting to see what you were going to say about this. Also have to admit I didn't see that angle to it coming........or how they are even remotely comparable.
So if I read your post correctly. You don't think this is a good deal for the world, because it's the same guy that made a deal to get an American citizen back?

What's to keep the next administration from tearing up this deal just like Obama did with the deal Pres. Bush had with Poland and the anti missile defense system.

Possibly that the other signatories of a deal with Iran won't renege on it, thus leaving the US with ineffective sanctions.

There's also a few international laws that govern inter state relations and how and when international agreements can be amended or annulled. Simply put, if the next administration decides to alter the agreement willy nilly, the U.S. would be in violation of international law. Not that any republican would care about that.

Let me put it this way, If I were in the used car business and Barack Obama walked on my lot I'd sh*t myself with joy knowing that all my financial dreams were about to come true!

I'm fairly confident that if Bama ordered the obliteration of Iran, you'd complain about the smell.

Barack Obama ordering the obliteration of any country aside from Israel or another of our allies is an abject impossibility.

"international law and treaties" That don't matter if the US House and Senate don't approve it. They have not and nor will our PIA what ever it is let them vote. No Vote, Deal null and void.

Why does this pinky swear to possibly sign something some day sound so different from what Obama's talking about, when this guy's describing it, I wonder.

2Cdo 2Cdo:
DrCaleb DrCaleb:
2Cdo 2Cdo:
See CM's post above mine. The Iranian leadership cannot be trusted period, I think they will look at this as a green light to work towards their goal of nuclear weapons.

I wouldn't trust them either, but the deal looks like it's monitored by the UN, so it may have that third party neutrality it needs to work. The damn article keeps changing, but there is a quote in there that 'if Iran cheats, the world will know about it' and 'Failure to comply with terms of the deal will cause those sanctions to "snap back into place".

Sounds like they are assuming Iran will cheat. Random UN inspections hinging on the return of sanctions if they pull an 'Iraq' like Saddam did to Hans Blix. Factoring that in means it may be a good deal.

Perhaps I'm just the optimist.

2Cdo 2Cdo:
Obama is blinded by his hatred towards Netanyahu and general dislike of Israel that he is willing to make any deal with Israels enemies.

Funny too, because the latest edit of the article includes quotes from Netanyahu:
"Any deal must significantly roll back Iran's nuclear capabilities and stop its terrorism and aggression," Netanyahu said on Twitter.

Yea, and a bag of Doritos too.

Monitored by the UN? ROTFL

Oh, you were serious. 8O

This is a bad deal done just to piss off Netanyahu by a shallow man. I predict in a few years Iran WILL have nuclear weapons and Obama will find a way to blame George Bush.

He already did. ROTFL

Check 2.29 of the video.

By the sounds of his speech he makes it appear that his gov't was the implementer of the sanctions against Iran, which is pretty cool especially since the guy he insinuates didn't do squat and allowed Iran to build thousands of centrifuges and a covert nuclear facility was still President when the UN sanctions went into place in 2006. But that raises another question, since covert means hidden how did he know about the facility. :P

The problem here is that if he actually believes that the Iranians won't build a bomb or don't already have one, he's either delusional or just electioneering because a country like Iran doesn't give up anything, that it sees as vital to it's national security period, especially when the foreign devil is the one asking them to do it.

But, I guess we can only hope that this isn't just another act of immense stupidity by the current administration who seems to be hell bent on making Iran their new BFF in the middle east while the rest of the region sinks into anarchy because of their decisions.

UN inspectors ?
You are forgetting Iran has been running circles around the IAEA for decades,
Iran will make Hans Blix and Saddam look astonishingly honest.

So much forgotten history, so little time to remind people.

I don't recall that anyone ever found that Hans Blix was telling anything but the truth. It's just that what he was saying did not match a pre-made template from Wolfie/Rummie/Cheney/ Dubya to the contrary.
