My comment on the current situation is also based on the media report - what extra clues do you have that this is not accurate?

Even if I were to dislike the military, which I don't, so what? Is there some onus that people have to like the military. You choose to interpret my comments as disliking the military - that's your right. But to call somebody a troll for expressing what you see as dislike of the military - how so? It's just another pov. Criticism is not dislike, nor is it trolling. I get the impressing that you would be setting up loyalty comissions, a la McCarthy, if you could.

That's the part I always wondered about with military folks. In our country it appears to be close to a 1:1 ratio of people who are worth defending and those who are so existentially shitty on all of the measurable levels as 'human' beings that they actually kind of deserve to be fed to the likes of a Hitler or Stalin. It's not just the board choads here at CKA. It's the potential of someone dying for the likes of at least half of our Parliament or the Bay Street wonderboys that becomes kind of cosmically mind-boggling.

Partly why I didn't stay in longer. The idea of representing this country when clearly half don't give a flying fuck about what happens to you, or thinks people only joined due to no education or couldn't get a real job, became tiring.

I find civvy street pays far better but there is no honour or integrity there. You don't have "buddies" but co-workers and most of them would throw you under the bus if it made them look good. Oh well, 4 more years of work and then I'm pulling the plug and moving somewhere warm where I don't have to deal with no one but the wife.
