Vaccination has no unintended effects (if you don't count over population) You want to vaccinate moose for tics, feel free. Spraying insecticide around the environment on the other had does have some unintended consequences. Aside from, as was quoted in the article, this scheme being implausible.

Just another wild life do gooder that can't leave well enough alone. She should spend her efforts helping humans instead of trying to micromanage the ecosystem.

lol reminds me of the days playing paintball wars on a buddies farm. We'd tag a few of his white cows now and then with orange rounds. Drove him crazy. Cows really didn't seem to care actually.

$1:
The idea is to fire insecticide powder-filled pellets at the animals to kill winter ticks that are infesting moose across the country.

I see, - you trudge through snow that's up to your waist till you are close enough to see and hit the tick infested area of a moose, shoot and then try and outrun it?

Yeah, sound foolproof.

Two man job.

Second guy has the real rifle just in case.

Thought that part would be common sense, forum full of city folk or what? :P

It would certainly be fun! Where do I sign up?

So, you're prepared to kill momma moose if she comes at you, what about the calf?? I'm not too sure I appreciate what you would consider to be...."fun"!!

Dude, the intent is to cure the animal.

Generally they would run the OTHER way.

If it goes bad then yes, I would be prepared to kill vs BE killed. But that's not the plan.

No, I do not have a sadistic side if that's what you're alluding to.

Getting paid to stomp around the bush looking for swamp donkies sounds like fun to me.

Re: smallpox. Ah the good old days before those meddling doctors and their commie Illuminati ZOG vaccines came along and ruined everything.

Hey, did you guys know that AIDS, ebola, and SIDS didn't exist until after vaccines were invented? Think about it! Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger! (or leaves you in a wheelchair)

Hyack Hyack:
Robair Robair:
Where do I apply for this job?

How long have you had this death-wish?

My thinking exactly, someone hasn't thought this through.

So, a second guy with a rifle to kill the moose after hitting it with insecticide.

Seems kind of counter productive.

DrCaleb DrCaleb:
And those mothers can run!

Yes Doc, I have seen a moose run; 4 legs in 4 different dircetions !

Also seen momma and calf waiting at the side of the road to cross, only crossing when
all cars stopped.

Farking smart, dem moosies.

The while story made ROTFL
