The US could just kill 'em, but we gave up fire-bombing cities back in 1945.

It's a tough choice indeed for conservatives: actually side with Pres. Obama on something or pass on the opportunity to bomb more Muslims indiscriminately? Decisions decisions. [popcorn]

Didn't watch it, did you?

If you watch the last 30 seconds Steve Green will tell you what it's really about. It's not about bombing. Obombya is already playing with his drones and other explosive delivery devices. (Yes Sandra, "Oh dears! Drones is bombs!" 8O )

But I don't want to spoil the reveal as to what it's really about. Go back and watch Xerxes. Take your popcorn. 8)

Thanos Thanos:
That straight-shooting think-from-the-gut conservative tough guy ignored all of his intelligence briefings for his first eight months in office and as a result 3000 people died when terrorists flew jetliners into office towers and government buildings. Then he invaded a country that had zero to do with the original terrorist attack on the US, knocked off the tyrant in charge that turned out to be the only one capable of controlling the local loonies, and installed a Potemkin village of a civilian government that pretty much collapsed when the next wave of loonies made their appearance. Then he also decided to piss off the Russians and forever lose their assistance in the anti-terrorist struggle by encouraging the shitty little irrelevant countries in the area to pick unwinnable fights and confrontations with Moscow. And at the same time he unleashed any remaining restraints on his pals on Wall Street, which resulted in things like the Enron looting of the utility systems in California and Texas, caused a massive wave of price increases that cost hundreds of thousands of Americans their health insurance that they could no longer afford to buy, actually managed to accelerate American job losses by making it even easier to shut down factories and manufacturing plants in order to set up shop in slave-labour markets overseas, and set all the dominoes in place that when they finished falling resulted in the destruction of the US housing/mortgage market and nearly triggered a second world-wide Great Depression. Other highlights of the shoot-from-the-hip's reign of power include allowing oil companies not to divulge what toxic chemicals they use in fracking operations as they contaminate local water tables, his first defense secretary deliberately preventing the Louisiana National Guard from entering New Orleans to stop the wave of violence and looting that erupted after the city was hit by a hurricane, staffing the FEMA offices with incompetents that were completely incapable of sending any meaningful aid into New Orleans for over a week after the hurricane struck, cutting the taxes of the already wealthy to the point that over $3 trillion has been permanently removed from government revenues, and giving the troops in Iraq woefully underprotected vehicles to use that pretty much ensured that more of them would be killed in IED and RPG attacks.

Just trying to put a scale out there so folks can understand that some sins and fuck ups are decidedly worse than others.

Don't you mean the Democratic President who treated the growing threat of Al Qaeda like a legal matter instead of a Terrorist threat while he was lying about having sexual relations with Ms Lewinsky? Not to mention by the time Bush took office 9/11 had years of planning in every detail then there's the wall AS AG Jamie Gorelick created preventing the sharing of information between the FBI and CIA. Let's not forget the classified documents former Clinton National Security Advisor Sandy Berger was caught stealing by hiding them in his pants. What was he protecting? Clinton's failure to protect the United States from the growing threat of Al Qaeda because shoving a cigar up MS Lewinsky's <censored> was more important?

There's some truth there, but I'm not sure how much.

Yes, the Syrian rebellion had multiple sects of Jihadis jostling for who was going to be boss hog.

But you seem to be missing the part where ISIS was winning that contest. They were emerging as the power merchants before the Yazidis.

They had their internet marketing campaign of proselytizing before Obombya started his campaign of droning Toyota pickup trucks.

And now you hear voices in Boko Harram and even the Taliban thinking of joining the Caliphate. Now you want to say forget about the Chicken, it's the egg.

Me I'm not sure. Al Qaida guys have always been swinging in and out - Al Nusra to ISIS. Do we call the operatives who took down the American embassy in Benghazi (which is when the Americans should have began their attacks) ISIS or Al Qaida? I'm not sure.

It's Muslims killing Muslims a world away and I don't care. Except that they seem bent on genocide and that kind of forces our hand. You almost forgot the honorary members of ISIS--Saudi Arabia.

When Serbs were committing genocide against Muslims in Kosovo it forced the West's hand and now it's happening again except this time as you pointed out it's Muslims killing Muslims. Not doing the right thing would be Rwanda. :(

This is why I laugh like hell when idiots yap on about how much Americans like killing Brown people. Considering that 1) The US spent billions of dollars developing munitions that were much more accurate in order to reduce collateral damage and unnecessary deaths. And 2)That if the US REALLY was all that interested in indiscriminately killing as many brown people as possible, entire cities would have been wiped out by the awesome bomb capacity and power of their fleet of B-52s and B-1s.
