And passion lies on either end.

No I would say for everyone. You are passionate about the things you love or you are passionate about the things you hate. Rarely are you passionate about the things you think are just OK.

These guys seem fairly immature and irresponsible, even more than too many college-age males usually are. Not too intelligent either if they thought their behaviour on Facebook was going to go un-noticed. Sounds like they should have gone into another faculty if they wanted to get away with being so obnoxiously bro-tastic. Big difference too between some dummies in a bad movie making date rape jokes and someone who's entering a medical field where he'll have access to prescription drugs and some potential victims at his disposal when they're under sedation. Normally the p.c. stuff from universities bothers me but in this case doing a pre-emptive Minority Report-style disciplining of these goofs would be the pragmatic and responsible thing to do.

I think the main point to be considered here is that, yes this was irresponsible but no one was planning on raping anyone here. It was childish banter between 2 male college students. It was irresponsible and in bad taste but there was nothing illegal done here. It's just talk.

Sure, but I understand the difference in that passion. I might at least think about inflicting violence against someone I hate, not about someone I care about. OTOH, I don't get hard thinking about using my dick as a weapon.

And why do they hate these women so much? As I said at the beginning, fear. Classic Freudian fear of the vagina/castration. These women didn't do anything to these guys, at most they were uppity feminists. Guys like this are wimps.

@Andy
That is highly presumptuous. It is still possible in 2015 for a woman to be detestable and their reasons for disliking them are a complete unknown.

Some people like rough sex. I dont, but who am I to judge? Forced rough sex and consensual rough sex are 2 different things.

Make-up sex is great, and usually happens when you are still kind of mad at each other, which I think goes to the whole passion thing again.

I think the Ghomeshi story has some people vilifying everything that remotely resembles so called rough sex. It isn't necessarily evil.

Sure. And anybody who jokes about hate fucking someone they detest is detestable right back

And this was about forced sex.

Wow, you really are projecting here.

Not when it's between consenting adults and nobody gets hurt (in which case consent goes out the window) this wasn't about that.

I've thought about it. Don't suspend them. Do the reconciliation thing, especially since at least some of the victims agreed with that.

But. Be sure to out these guys. I'm sure there are lots of people willing to do so, if it hasn't happened already. I want these guys to look their sisters or mothers in the eye when they explain themselves. And I'm serious about the CDA keeping an eye on them too.

I agree with that. Make their names known. They can carry it with them for as long as people care.

Some people will give a shit, some won't but basically, if you post it on Facebook, you own it.

"can you tell my what Zyklon B smells like?"

Why do you hate the Jews so much that you'd post an anti-Semitic line like this? Did you really think this was funny?

It is an obvious play on a joke from the movie "hall pass", "Does this bar napkin smell like cloroform ?"

It's from "Family Guy", two years before that movie. "Does this wet rag smell like Chloroform?"

Of course. Didn't ask him if he wanted to hate fuck her, nor if he wanted to drug and rape her. This is more than guys objectifying women sexually - we all do that, and women do it to us.

I'm sorry, I don't think like these guys do, and I wouldn't want a woman I care about seeing them as patients.

How many times have I told you, quit treating objects like women.

Just think--these days I'd be expelled from most major Canadian universities for that comment.

The people have spoken. the students must endure the modern version a public caning. Pull down your pants boys and get set for twenty.
