And, no, it was not by choice. It was the managers orders. He is paid by how much profit he makes, not how many customers don't puke their guts out.

When you're hard and desperate for a job you just say yes massa!

'Zactly. Meat cutting and working at an abattoir put me through University. People develop their moral center sometime after they aren't living hand to mouth.

At least, most of us develop one.

Save On absolutely does not. I know because I worked there, in the meat/seafood department.

Might be safer to say....."when I was working there they didn't repackage their meat."

In most instances I'd agree with you, but it's a very strict company policy with Save On. Not only was my boss adamant about dates being pulled, but the store manager made rounds to check as well. A few of my co-workers worked at other locations previously and they were trained in the same manner. I'd have to say it's a chain thing.

Now - I did work with one lazy little tit that simply didn't do it, so if she closed for a couple days in a row, old crap was on the shelf until someone else closed. Once I brought it to the department manager's attention, though, he and the store manager rode her ass and made sure it was done. She eventually just complied.

Unless things have changed in the last 3 or 4 years (and I do know this store hasn't), I'd be pretty confident in saying that Save On is a fairly safe bet for fresh meat. The ones up here, anyway.
