DanSC DanSC: Finally reading though some of the evidence presented to the grand jury, I had these takeaways
1) The prosecution knew they had zero chance at a conviction and rather than face public outrage for not bringing the case to trial, they let the grand jury make the decision for them.
2) Officer Wilson is a terrible cop and shouldn't wear the badge again. NEVER let a civilian that close to an open window of your cruiser, especially without backup. Wilson was getting out of his car when Brown slammed the car door into him, then came thru the window at him. I don't think he's such a terrible cop. His mistake was assuming this was a normal individual just goofing off by walking down the street, not a bully who thought he was cock of the walk.

These people in Ferguson are undoing the work that Martin Luther King put in to civil rights. Wilson was cleared of charges... You can't riot when the checks and balances work.

Well they don't always work - vis Rodney King trial. The Justice system does screw over blacks, so that you're going to get a reaction even when it's not warranted. But rioting, burning, especially looting doesn't help anything. The thing is that that people doing it don't care about that. Group anger often has a legitimate cause, but unfortunately often comes out in ways that just makes things worse.

People who've never worked in Law enforcement talking about how easy this or that is and how this or that should work, very annoying. Never let someone close to your car (or you)? In theory it is a great idea to maximize security. In practice any cop or other enforcement officer will tell you it is impractical.

You can only get "screwed over" by the system if you get into it in the first place. If we stop the "blame whitey" game and look at root causes of such problems, we'd be much further ahead. We don't need half-wits like you spouting off that black people get 'screwed'. You don't help the problem.

But first, look up Dillon Taylor.

andyt andyt: And how did law enforcement and the justice system treat Dillon Taylor differently? They didn't, that's the point. Just like Brown he was unarmed and just like Brown he was shot and killed by the police. And just like Brown, the offending officer was cleared of any wrongdoing. But because he was White, no one gave a shit. No media circus, no Sharpton, no Holder, no comments from Obummer, no demonstrations and no National Bar Association rejecting the grand jury's finding and demanding the officer be prosecuted anyway. In fact, the only people who seem to be worried about justice being served in the Taylor case are his family and it's lookin' like they're gonna be S.O.L. because the bleeding heart lefties are too busy fapping themselves over the Brown killing to notice and the media could care less about a cop killing a White guy. There's no way to sensationalize and over-hype that to the point you can run stories for weeks about it.

And you think this demonstrates that the cops and justice system treat blacks equally to whites? Take a look at who's getting shot, who's getting falsely convicted, who's getting stopped by the police, who's getting the harsher sentences, etc. As I said before, a preponderance of dusky hued folks. One white guy (possibly) getting a raw deal doesn't mean that the police and justice system are color blind.
