From the way I read it, it sounds like he was in no way concerned about getting caught. I've heard it described as an indiscriminate rampage, and they are referring to the cat killings as the same incident:

What stands out as being obviously different though is that terrorists generally have a cause and are very upfront about making that cause know. This was the case with Rigby in the UK and the US journalists. Committing a terrorist act without a declaration of what your goal is, is like doing the work and not getting paid.

My views on Radical Islam are fairly well known, but I think in this case this doesn't apply. What you have here is a very sick criminal psychotic who needs to be locked up in a dark hole somewhere with the cell door welded shut.

Never said that nor suggested it. Dogs are considered unclean in islam, ergo more likely to be religiously motivated attack. I think PA9 is on the right track.

The details of the conversion are still a little grainy. Although, I think it is fair to assume he is Muslim, some are saying he is a recent convert in April:
