It's you who need to read. We don't have a race based immigration policy. We take in quite a few Europeans, just that they don't apply in the numbers that the Asians do.

I didn't say we should have a Eurocentric immigration policy, ie directly favor European immigrants. I said we should have a Eurocentric attitude towards Canada, in the sense of maintaining the social organizing principles we inherited from Europe, since those are the basis of our success. Big difference.

I also acknowledged that immigration rules that required good English as well as needed job skills would favor Europeans, since most of them learn English in school. That's just a side effect of having a policy that benefits Canada tho, in the sense that we get immigrants ready to to to work with the skills they were supposedly let in for. Many Asians also speak good English and have the skills, they would not be excluded in any way. Africans too. Mostly I want immigration drastically reduced, since we aren't creating enough jobs for all the people that we let in now. This would also ensure, since the country isn't flooded with immigrants every year, that we retain our social values, ie Eurocentric ones, instead of having them swamped by immigrants from areas of the world that have different social organizing principles.

It's not hard. We can be Canada centric, and Eurocentric without being racist about it. Of course what I've written here will be deemed racism by some, since any mention of preferring the European based way or organizing a society will be deemed racist. Just as the guy from no one is illegal says it's racial profiling to check people's immigration status. That's bullshit, as was your assertion we don't take in white people. We do. Even with our current immigration system, I would guess they still have a leg up with language and skills accreditation. Just that their applications are swamped by all the ones for Asia. I don't know if we have quotas for different regions. If we do, we should get rid of them, only select the best applicants no matter where they are from. And make them take an oral English exam, even if they are from England.

severely limit family visas to immediate family, dependent children and spouse only. No parents, grandparents, cousins, aunties and uncles.

While not race based it can seem that way since (at least when I left in 2005) each country or region is allowed a certain number of approvals each year. At least when I was with CIC the European countries had much lower numbers allowed in than countries from the Asian continent. So, while skills based, if Germany has way more qualified skilled trades or University educated applicants they have to cut most of them off. On the flip side some middle eastern countries will still have room to take many much lower skilled applicants, just because they have the room in their quota to do so.

This means hat while there may be many more better qualified Dutch wokers who have skill training that would even be recognized in Canada we end up taking less skilled Pakistanis whose training is not even recognized by Canadian industry standards.

So yes, by policy we take less Europeans, or any colour or race.

Yes, I have to partially backtrack here. We don't have a non-white immigration policy, or even a non-European one. But if we have quotas for each region, especially if the quotas for Europe are lower, then it would have the same effect.

I don't understand that at all. We should be taking the best applicants no matter where they are from. Quotas don't make sense. But then our whole immigration system doesn't make sense.

Well then we would only take applications from Europe.

But that would be racist.

As Shep pointed out, many well qualified Asians as well. I doubt we even get 250,000 high quality applications from Europeans.
