I am half of fifty. That's why I was rather tweaked by his comment.

Hey. I'm impressed that "half of fifty" can concentrate long enough to post that thought.

That Ritalin must be pretty good stuff, eh?

You truly are a fucking dick.

Xort Xort:
I was happy when Metallica's Death Magnetic had an average song length of 7min.

The worst sounding album of recent history, totally crushed flat and distorted. So bad even the mastering engineer has disowned the album.

And as for the OP. Well thats the fact nowadays, todays consumers attention span is very short and its not just the young people. Its the way the world has become, nobody has time for 3 minute intros, 5 minute solos and 2 minutes outros. Its just the way the world is nowadays, hell people start making noise if their webpage loads 0.01 milisecond slower.

Although I hardly like much of todays music specially in the pop, rock, hip hop and rap genres but if there is anything I do like I would like to hear all 4 minutes of it. Radio edit in those genres today usually means the version with no swearing it.

Having said that I don't refuse to listen to new stuff,( because every now and then something good does pop up ) or just keep griping about oh how good it was back in the day, But as soon as something uninteresting comes up its back to the 80s channel for me

They must be following the "short broadcasting strategy" format

Given the way they behave with policies like this and other shock tactics they've been using to get attention, on behalf of all Calgarians I genuinely hope that this station experiences the consequences of their own apparent "short existence strategy" and they're forced to change format within the next year. Everything I've seen and heard about these clowns has been negative, far worse than what normally happens with corporatized commercial radio, and hopefully it comes back to bite them.
