Natives have a huge amount of goodwill because they are perceived as both victims and crusaders. Selling out to big oil, especially foreign big oil, shatters that narrative and watch that goodwill evaporate.

Yeah but I don't recall Enbridge making a lot of noise protesting the idea of the Northern Gateway.
Like, how do the Stoney Nakoda plan on getting the oil from their lands to the coast?
That's why I made my initial post. Are the Natives who were so dead set against Northern Gateway suddenly going to be open to the idea because one of their fellow nations will get to make the big oil bucks?
Or, will we start to see inter-tribal rivalries as those who don't have resource rich lands to exploit for personal gain start resenting those who do?

So maybe the Chinese will make deals with about 209 other Indian Bands and Enbridge will only have to worry about the other 208 conditions?
