Hate to say, but with the Messiah image of Obama's being tarnished and with attacks starting to come in from all sides the man is going to get desperate. And dangerous.

The lefties kept saying the same sort of silly thing about President Reagan back in 86/87/88, especially after the midterms and the disaster of Iran-Contra. "He's a crazy lame duck! He's gonna nuke Moscow! He's got nothing to lose!". Nonsense about Reagan back then is the same sort of nonsense that too many of you guys are saying about President Obama today.

Here's the thing about politicians. In almost all instances, no matter how corrupt or incompetent they may actually be, the politician turns out to be significantly less insane that either their supporters or detractors.

Obama has actually managed to have the lowest approval ratings of any President since Harry Truman fired Douglas MacArthur.

Even Nixon had higher approval ratings during Watergate.

Nixon also had to resign in disgrace. Only according to FOX ratings, which are notoriously skewed against Democrats and overtly in favour of GOP. Other more neutral and therefore more reliable ratings sources show the President doing no worse in his second term than Reagan or Clinton did, and significantly better than LBJ or Bush 43 did.

Douglas MacArthur deserved to get fired anyway, for turning what would have been a significant victory into a grudging stalemate (at best) by not giving the Chinese a buffer zone along the Yalu River. The DPRK would have been essentially liquidated altogether as a political entity and almost the entire Northern population liberated if the UN forces had stopped about 50 miles south of the Yalu. Practically the entire peninsula would have come under the permanent control of the South if MacArthur hadn't deliberately antagonized the Chinese into entering the war by encroaching too close to their borders.

Benghazi happened after Obama claimed Al Qaeda was no longer a threat as they've been decimated and he thought the truth could politically damage him with the 2012 election around the corner.

Obama pressured Hillary Clinton into backing the video caused the attack story, she objected and was going to resign in protest but after consulting with her husband he advised her it would be political suicide with the Democratic Party throwing Obama under the bus so against her better judgement she went along with the video story, that's Benghazi.

I disagree. Obama and his team did a very good job as painting Hillary as just another Washington party inside and a part of the establishment. Whereas he was the younger outsider who hadn't been co-opted by the beltway crowd yet.

That's still Clinton's weakness IMO; that's she just another big cog in the party machine who's more hawkish and less attuned to the party than she thinks she is.

Clinton didn't run a very good campaign in 2008, mostly because her team thought she was going to cakewalk into the job on name recognition alone. As Obama began to win more and more primaries the Clinton campaign pretty much collapsed because, aside from originating the stupid smear that led to the idiocy of the Birther conspiracy, they didn't know how to effectively respond to the challenge.
