BeaverFever BeaverFever:
More lies.
Ah, so the public service was so terrible a few years ago, that we had to add 100,000 workers in the last 6-7 years just to catch up with population growth? Is your Ontario better now that we have another 100,000 people working for the government?
BeaverFever BeaverFever:
Health and Education are essential, and this is where Hudak says most of his cuts will be focused.
Fiction. He never said that.
BeaverFever BeaverFever:
I wasn't a fan of their corporate tax cuts - and I'm definitely not a fan of the right-wing mantra that coprate taxes must be cut EVERY election cycle. And if tax cuts really did improve the economy, the Liberals cuts would have saved the economy, right? Corporate taxes are already HALF what they were in 1960 and almost 50% less than what they were in 1992.
It's almost always a part of Liberal policy in the last 10-20 years as well.
BeaverFever BeaverFever:
BULLSHIT. His platform says he's going to cut corporate taxes by 30%. A tax cut is a loss of revenue. This lost revenue and his planned job cuts are all part of the same fiscal plan, ERGO some of the savings Hudak finds from slitting 100,000 throats will be used to offset the lost revenue from corporate tax cuts. You're smarter than that.
Wrong. Let's leave the questions of my intelligence at the door. Especially when you enter so ill-prepared.
Assuming of course, that revenue automatically goes down when taxes are lowered at the corporate level? It doesn't. Typical Liberal economics.
Corporate tax revenue has
risen during the Harper/McGuinty/Wynne era despite the cuts to the tax rate.
Why? Even since 2010 when the Liberals cut the tax rate down 3 percentage points, income from corporate taxes went up.
BeaverFever BeaverFever:
1) They didn't promise it would be primarily through attrition.
2) At the end of the day, it's still 100,000 fewer teachers, nurses, administrators available to service the population, while the population contiues to GROW, so that is a service cut.
1. Yes, he did. Read beyond what you see on commercials. A quick search on Google will tell you what you need to know. Again, ill-prepared.
2. Ontario in 2014 is in far worse shape than we were in 2009 when we were 100,000 staff lighter. I think we'll be just fine.
Keep in mind Beaver, I've never been a fan of Hudak. Frankly, the leader I like the most is Andrea Horwath. However, I think that the policy that the Ontario PC's have come up with is the better choice to return Ontario from being a financial disaster.
The NDP and Liberals just don't have the 'stones' to take the measures they need to get the job done.
