Jabberwalker Jabberwalker: $1: For some never-revealed reason a number of suburban school districts had made a pornographic book required reading for freshman (grade nine) high school students.
Oh, I see ... no sex ed. on your patch, eh? Did anyone ever tell you that pornography is in the eye of the beholder? If you see "porno" where others see educational material, perhaps YOU are the pervert, not the publisher of the anatomical textbook? Dear Fucktard, did you first read the book I referenced? If you didn't and you're writing this you're an asshole. If you did and you're writing this you're beneath contempt.

Wow, that's some f*cking "humanist" organization there. Charity drives are now verboten in public schools if the organization being donated to has ANY religious affiliation, regardless if it's merely trying to make sure a few poor kids have something resembling a Christmas.
Fascism: It's not just for right wingers anymore. Seriously, they might just as well call themselves the "Fascist-Atheist Association".

Oh, I see ... no sex ed. on your patch, eh? Wow, really? So incest would be part of your sex-ed curriculum?

They're going nuts driving their kids to sex there these days. I think it might be something in the water. So many examples but here's one on vegetable sex for kids from the TC school board. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2012 ... es-for-SexSee this guy on the left of the Ontario Premier and the Shiny Pony at Toronto's gay pride festival? His name is Ben Levin. $1: Word that University of Toronto professor Ben Levin had been arrested on child-pornography charges rocked Queen’s Park this week.
A highly respected educator and a former senior bureaucrat, Levin was a member of Premier Kathleen Wynne’s transition team, a trusted and influential adviser. http://www.torontosun.com/2013/07/09/di ... ion-policyYou just don't hear about this stuff (and there's a lot more), because, you know...Rob Ford.

Any idea who that guy is? $1: Other than Stephen Harper, no person is as qualified as Tom Flanagan to offer an insider's perspective on the Reform Party, its reincarnation as the Conservative Party and what has transpired since then. As a Reform activist and staffer (he worked closely with Preston Manning for two years) and as the occupant of several important roles in the Canadian Alliance and Conservatives (including election campaign manager in 2004), the University of Calgary professor's perch has been unique. Tom Flanagan Tom Flanagan: “What’s wrong with child pornography — in the sense that it’s just pictures?”

andyt andyt: Risk is something school administrators are not supposed to take. yes, that's a problme. So you have schools telling kids they aren't allowed to touch each other...just in case. I think people are getting fed up with it.

Nay, not I, for I am an ex-pat English Montreal refugee who used to scoff/laugh at Toronto. As a matter of fact, I live and work on the outer orbit of Hogtown but avoid going into it at every turn. $1: Dear Fucktard, did you first read the book I referenced?
I confess that winding you up is sort of fun, now and then. I know, I know ... troll, etc.

Tom Flanagan Tom Flanagan: “What’s wrong with child pornography — in the sense that it’s just pictures?” First of all, seriously? Rabble.ca. I understand why you didn't want to post that link. Freakin' Commies. The American professor Tom Flannagan was not Ben Levin. This is who Levin is. $1: A highly respected educator and a former senior bureaucrat, Levin was a member of Premier Kathleen Wynne’s transition team, a trusted and influential adviser. http://www.torontosun.com/2013/07/09/di ... ion-policyHe is now being charged for, $1: counselling to commit an indictable office and agreeing to or arranging for a sexual offence against a child under 16. and this is what was happening during his days with Kathy. $1: Wynne was education minister at the time.
The curriculum aimed to teach 11-year-olds about oral and anal sex, and eight-year-olds about sexual orientation and identity.
One teacher “prompt” suggests how the teacher might discuss “erections, wet dreams and vaginal lubrication,” as normal things that happen with puberty. Ironically, we were told kids need to know this stuff at an early age “because they can find it on the Internet.”
The big question now is, who put it there?
After Laurel Broten took over at the helm of education, the sex-ed curriculum quietly died. What you're talking about is a professor who was speaking at a University, and somebody who was there with a recording device happened to luck upon a little phrase that could be taken out of context. $1: Flanagan subsequently apologized for his remarks, stating that his words were "badly chosen".[43] On March 5, 2013 Flanagan, on an interview with The Agenda talk show host Steve Paikin, Flanagan defends his position, and explains that he was cut off and unable to explain fully his position. He also states he was posing a question to provoke thought as he would have done as a professor.[44] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Flana ... ientist%29Your turn again Comrade.

Then those people can't whine when their taxes go up to pay for the lawsuits. Can't have it both ways.

I don't see this as being very shocking.

When I had sex ed, in I believe gr. 8, the pages on childbirth were stapled together in the books given to boys (separate classes) so the lads couldn't get aroused by line drawings of a woman's pelvic area. The teacher came around regularly to check if the staples were being bothered. Anything is an improvement over that. Or, one could say, "I learned about sex in the proper place, the gutter."
