The gates in question are not actually near the White Hut but instead are at Pennsylvania and New York Avenues - about three blocks away. No Secret Service would've been at that location so it's probably Capitol Police, DC Police, or etc.

The radio here is now saying that the woman driver was unarmed and that the police fired approximately eighty shots in the course of the action.

The New York Post has identified the deceased as Miriam Carey, a dental hygienist from Stamford, Connecticut.

I'm hearing that Miriam was a Somali. Also hearing that the child who was in the car with her was shot more than once and is in the hospital with life threatening injuries but is expected to live.
