I'm back on one right now. The family across the street from us has had three suicides in the past year and a half. It's a community of 1500 people with an all weather road, but if you want ANYTHING you have to drive to Prince Albert or Flin Flon. Any comparable sized non native community would have a grocery store, restaurants and tradespeople. All f our windows are covered with steel mesh and the doors all have two or three bolts and steel cores.

desertdude desertdude: Can't say I have been, but not every 12 year old on the reserve is going around beating little kids to death. Some of the flak here is based in the notion that the natives like to say that a whole village raises every child - and in this case the whole village is being held to account. It's their bullsh*t and they need to accept the bad side of it along with the good...as they always do when some native kid graduates from college or gets a job at Timmie's and doesn't get fired right away.

PJB PJB: Where was the foster mom during all of this? Oh yeah, inside playing Bingo. Go figure Really? When you were six your mother hovered over you every minute? You must have grown up a very precious child. When we were six, we played outside, unsupervised until it started getting dark or it was time to come in for supper. Met up with plenty of older bullies too, just not ones that would kill you.

For all the haters out here, I wonder how you would do growing up like this kid did. Wonder what kind of damage your brain would have have sustained by the time you were 12 from growing up in this sort of environment. Lots of "bad" kids like this that come out of the foster care system, white and red.

As this child is already known to law enforcement, and he is too young to be charged with any crime, he should be detained indefinitely. Reform school would be a good start.

It's likely the natives will pull the "community sentencing" bullshit on this one and have him to pretty much scott free after writing an apology letter and doing some community service.
Sadly that's likely about as much punishment as he will get under the Canadian system of justice.
We need a clause where a judge can try any youth like an adult if a jury finds such a request valid.

I think at the very least some prolonged detention and an Extended stay at those military type boot camps For Little shits like this one.
we can all speculate about How he grew up but the fact of the matter is a 6 year old has been brutally murdered and from the circumstances it seems like if nothing is done more crime is going to take place in the future

Well the boy is in a 24 hour supervised lock down awaiting assesment and tests. It will be interesting to see what all the reports show. Half you lot are so busy jumping on the race card that you have forgoten to look at the facts. Hine sight is 20/20 and lets face it dealing with the government is like beating your head against a wall. Dealing with Childrens Aid is a huge crap shoot sometimes they pull kids for nothing and sometimes they leave them when they should have been taken. For all we know they were involved with the boy and didn't see him as a threat. It will be a long while before we know anything one way or the other.

Jon Venables, 31, was freed after being locked up in 2010 for downloading images of child abuse, the Sun said.

Yeah when you're bruytally murdering small children and you aren't even 12 yet, your chances of rehabilitation are pretty close to 0.
