I've got one lingering question about this whole scenario. Why would a first time appointee to the Senate go in there and start feeding like a pig at the trough?
It seems to me that if you walked into a new job and on the first day started stealing pens, pencils, paper, office supplies and other sundry stationary you'd be considered an idiot for taking such a big chance.
So why did these clowns walk in off the street and immediately start ripping off the taxpayers? If I were to guess it'd be that at some point someone or something made them feel this entitlement was a right of a Canadian Senator. Which may just show how deep the corruption really goes.
I can't help but feel that this sense of entitlement and privilege has been bred into all these pricks for nearly a century and a half and that when they walk through the front door of the Senate some staffer tells them what you can skim, steal and hide.
