I'm having a hard time believing that little bit of damage to the corner of the trailer is solely responsible for taking out that bridge. If it is then that bridge should have been condemned a long time ago.

From what I have read so far, he had permits, a mapped route and safety vehicles. He was passed on the bridge by another tractor trailer unit. Perhaps the blame should be placed on the the fool who would pass an over sized load on a bridge.
