Aside from being a symbol and a martyr and whatever else people want to project on her, Anne Frank was also just an ordinary young girl. She had a crush on the boy of the family that was hiding her, for instance. I think Bieber's comment highlights that, humanizes her and I don't see anything wrong with it.

After a performance by Bieber here, I saw 4 young tweens strutting down the skytrain platform, singing baby baby baby, a little unsure of themselves but defiantly flaunting their developing sexuality. Very cute. Anne Frank didn't get to do that, but I'm sure she had the same impulses and desires these girls did. I think that's what Bieber meant, even if he didn't know it. I don't think it takes away from the memory of Anne Frank, it adds to it.
