If your dog just got crushed, would you be looking for license plate or even make of car? What I don't understand is that this driver came out of a driveway - ie he was at least visting somewhere, and and people there should know him.

Unless of course he was a door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman. Or Jehova's witness...

I believe it was the Boys and Girls Club driveway - they should know who just left their premises. Not sure what he would be charged with tho.

Um, yeah. Especially since the vehicle is right in front of him. The guy had the presence of mind to ask the guy for a ride to the nearest vet. It's not that much of a stretch to think the guy would have had the presence of mind to look at the back of the vehicle that just ran over him and his dog as it was trying to get away.

I think given the difficulty the driver gave him, he should have suspected the guy was going to take off. I would've taken a cell phone pic of the plate.

Also, given that the owner himself was hit, it seems like "hit and run" laws would have required him to wait for police and not leave.
