$1: “The only logical reason, and it’s illogical, has to do with the colour of my skin,” he says. “I think he has a problem with my skin colour, I think he has a problem with people of African descent, I think he has a problem with African-Americans.” Yup, that's the only reason. It's because Kenney, and the Liberals who deported him in 2004 under the Paul Martin government, are all like raycissss and sheeit. It has nothing at all to do with any association this prick had with violent quasi-terroristic radical politics and an active attempt to murder a police officer. Nope, nothing at all. The hardcore left-wing garbage that animated the NDP back in the 1960's and '70's still motivated them today. Mulcair and this attempted murderer can both go fuck themselves.

He seems like he's been pretty well behaved for the past 40 years. I don't buy the 'It's because I'm black' argument but this guy committed offences during a very turbulent time in the US.
I'm pretty sure if I'd been a black American in the 1950's and 1960's I'd have been joining in with the struggle for equality.
He should get a second chance I think. It shouldn’t be a NDP vs Tory issue.

jj2424 jj2424: The guy jumped bail, lived under a fake name in Canada and this jackass thinks we should let himback in. WTF is it with this guy? Why does anyone pay any attetion to a guy who refinanced his house 11 times? As much as I think Mulcair is a fucking twit, there are several legitimate reasons for refinancing one's mortgage without being in debt up to your eyeballs. Hell, I refinanced my mortgage 3 times in 7 years to take advantage of better rates. Some will refinance to get some of the equity out of their home, say for renovations or sending a child to university. To immediately assume a person who has refinanced their mortgage 11 times over numerous years must be bad with money is an uneducated assumption to make. Smart people refinance their mortgages on a fairly regular basis.

When I worked in banking, a guy decided to play the race card and accused me of refusing his loan request because he was black. How well do you think that ploy worked out for him?

Strange sentence he got, especially for the US - 30 days plus probation for shooting a cop - usually they'd give you years for that. OTOH, the 250,000 fine, very strange again. And how did he pay it, that's not chump change.
I fuck all this "it's racism" bullshit. He's convicted of serious crime, he's ineligible to emigrate to Canada. Fuck him, fuck Mulcair. The racism is on Mulcair's part - he wouldn't do this if the guy was white - no points in it.

Too bad then that Mulcair decided to make it one. $1: For more than three years, Mr. Mulcair, who went to high school with Mr. Freeman’s wife, Natercia Coelho, has championed the case. You think Mulcair saw this as an opportunity to gain votes? 3 years ago?

I didn't realize shooting cops was an essential part of the struggle for equality. Would that argument work for you if an FN did the same thing today? The other problem is, the guy is NOT Canadian. He came here illegally under a false name as a fugitive, not that it matters to the Dippers.

I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with freeman getting back into the country. Just go with the 'known' facts.
He pleaded guilty in Chicago to aggravated assault, received a 30-day sentence, two years’ probation and a $250,000 fine.
Treat him exactly as anyone else who has such a conviction on record.

Gunnair Gunnair: The idea that OTI may have to sit in front of a webcam in a Hello Kitty costume is a touch creepy.
I'd argue the thing that's the most creepy is that you came up with that thought all by yourself. Odd fantasy though.
