ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: they're releasing him on bail? Are you kidding ? He's got money. He's a Senator. He's an apple to boot, according to Chief Tenchins. He won't spend 2 days in the can.

Zipperfish Zipperfish: OnTheIce OnTheIce: Presumed guilty until proven innocent. yes, that nasty Harper threw him out of caucus. Imagine. Politics has little to do with fact and substance and all to do with image. This decision isn't surprising at all. This guy, guilty or innocent, is a political turd and will always be despite the outcome.

From the NDP today:
New Democrat MP Alexandre Boulerice said Friday after question period that Brazeau never should have been nominated in the first place, and that the nominations of Brazeau and Duffy show Prime Minister Stephen Harper has a problem with political judgment. "We're calling into question the political judgment of the prime minister in these nominations. How was it that someone like Patrick Brazeau was named to the Senate, with a job for life? For taxpayers it will cost, until 2049, $7 million," Boulerice said.
Like ? as in Native ? Or are they claiming that Harper, like all prime ministers failed to use his PM standard issued Crystal Ball that allows all PM's to gaze into the future ?
Does anyone seriously buy this kooky-talk ?

Does anyone seriously buy this kooky-talk ? No, like as in having a history of being a deadbeat prior to his appointment.. $1: “The Conservatives appointed him knowing full-well that he had numerous sexual harassment complaints against him and he was not paying child support for his son,” said Francoise Boivin, NDP MP for Gatineau, inside the House of Commons. This part is awesome.. $1: “People don’t like the fact that we have aboriginal people in the Senate that have a pretty powerful voice or can have a pretty powerful voice at times. I’ve always known I was going to be the target. That’s fine.”
He also said at the time: “Everything negative that has been said about me since my appointment has never been proven. I still look forward to the day that, regardless of the allegations that swarm out there by different media sources or any other individuals or groups, that they actually provide the truth and the facts to back up their allegations.” Brazeau pulls the race card, and the innocent until proven guilty after his weeks long smear campaign against Theresa Spence. Karma's a bitch some times. http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/02/08 ... d-senator/

You know the difference between complaints and being found guilty of something right ? As far as not paying child support. There's a law against not paying child support. It's called bill C-41. But it's up to the other party to file the complaint. So either it' bullshit, or either the "chick" complained after he landed a good paying job. If you're on the C-41 list there would be no way he would get through the security check before being appointed to the Senate. But yeah like you said, Harper knowingly hires deadbeats.

It's just entertaining. $1: "A Conservative government will not appoint to the Senate anyone who does not have a mandate from the people." (Conservative party website during 2006 election) $1: Harper, speaking at a news conference in Vancouver, says he considers Brazeau’s situation “terrible,” “extremely appalling” and “disappointing.”
“We all feel very let down,” he said. Join the club Steve.

I think the laughing point here is that Harper is running into all this troubole with these senators that he said he'd never appoint.

Almost as entertaining as watching you dodge and avoid any and all questions thrown at you about any issue you take cause with. Zippperfish Zippperfish: I think the laughing point here is that Harper is running into all this troubole with these senators that he said he'd never appoint. Almost as funny as watching people like you make this comment despite the facts: 1. You can't leave the Senate empty and seats permanently vacant. 2. The Government has tried to bring forth change to the Senate 4-5 times only to be blocked by the Liberals and the NDP.

He keeps on trying, but the opposition continously votes against any attempt no matter how small when it comes to Senate reform. Then they have the gaul to call him on it when shit goes wrong on his watch though. He's been trying to change it. Stop blocking the motions. It's nothing more than intellectual plumb-dumb cheap shots that most of us aren't buying.
