Are you kidding me? C'mon! This kid brought a gun to school and apparently used it to threaten his classmates.

No underage child should be in possession of any firearm, unless at a shooting range or hunting, and accompanied by a parent. Anyone, and I mean anyone who commits gun related crimes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. In this case, the child apparently threatened his classmates with the gun. If that isn't a felony, then I don't know what is.

As for the Utah law that allows bringing guns to school, I'm sure the law is intended for school officials like superintendents, principals, and teachers. Under no circumstance should a child be allowed to bring any firearm to school, regardless if parental permission was given.

In Canada, you can't be prosecuted criminally for anything under the age of 12. ANYTHING.

True. I believe in the U.S. the age is 10.
