I don't support either side, but I am unanimous n the fact that Buttman has screwed up the NHL so badly that any resemblence to a professional sports league is merely a conincidence.
Fire that prick and send Fehr back to MLB and we may have a chance of getting a couple of adults to the table and ending this continual cycle of labour discourse.
This is not the fault of Gary or Donald.
Gary is employed by the OWNERS and asked to do what they want. This isn't his decision! Same goes for Fehr....he's doing what the players want him to do?
Let's stop blaming a guy(s) that's got nothing to do with this.
Both these people were hired to get "results" and let loose on their respective opponenents. Had the NHLPA wanted to just negotiate with the league they could have stuck with Goodenaw and let the chips fall where they may and not brought in the guy who put the MLB owners in their place. Same as the NHL owners have stuck with Bettman because he's won twice before. So these peoples advice holds alot more weight than just a negotiator.
Yes, the owners locked out the players and yes the players want labour discourse just to get their way but, it's Buttman and Fehr who are calling the shots for their respective sides and saying they have nothing to do with the way this strike is progressing is pretty much akin to saying Jimmy Hoffa didn't have squat to do with any of the Teamsters strikes.
