How do you measure cost? When you factor environmental costs, gas is a goddamn bargain at $1.50/L.

The problem comes when you have to buy 50 to 100 litres in one shot, which you usually don't have to do with milk, coffee, or juice. That's when an unwarranted and greed-driven price hike in the cost of fuel hurts people and leaves them extremely pissed-off.

I agree with Thanos. Buying shares of common stock is one thing. You are basicly buying part of a business, which you hope will grow and prosper. Its a gamble. Mabey you win, mabey you lose. Fuel is something that everyone NEEDS! It affects us all. I firmly believe that we need to remove the speculators from the commodities markets. If you represent Tropicana orange juice, than you should be able to bid on orange juice futures contracts. General mills should be able to bid on oats futures contracts, Chevron on oil,etc.,etc.. If you are not in the actual business of commodities, you should not be able to bid on them IMHO. Lets cut out as many middle men as possible when it comes to the greater good of energy,and other commodities.
