I'd like to see the stats you used for that quote.

In that food court, it's quite amazing that more people were not killed or injured. A confined space with a backstop of the ceramic covered concrete floor provides ideal ricochet situations.

I don't see any reports of the firearm used but most semi-auto pistols at close range can put out a round fast enough to whizz through a couple of people and still carry on.
