The police in Vancouver were describing how they were looking down on the crowd at the courthouse. (police estimate 5000 people, the media says 10,000, so let's settle on 7,500). They say as soon as the downtown offices let out, you can see all the office people streaming to the rally, while there's a big movement away from it from all the hardcore stoners who by that time are too baked and have to go home.

And unlike a "drink in" there's no violence, no trouble except for a few lost souls wandering around trying to figure out where they are.
