When a soldier kills a bunch of Afghan civilians, it's probably because he snapped.

A terrorist is politically motivated. A soldier snapping and killing a bunch of people is a serial killer.

And you know that every Afghan opening up is a terrorist how?

Only 25% of the green on blue attacks are from the Taliban. The rest are from ordinary Astanis who feel insulted or pissed off at our presence. So 75% of green on blue attacks are same as this one - somebody snapping. And of course with the threat of green on blue attacks, you can see how this soldier did just snap. He's not a terrorist because he's not part of a terrorist network - there is no US equivalent of the Taliban.

And of course this sort of incident, or the pissing one, don't help the NATO cause. But since the cause was lost long ago, what's the difference. The minute NATO leaves the warlords and Taliban will make a deal, or fight it out. Whoever wins won't make much difference.

This is the kinda thing that worries me with the Civil Assistance plan, that was signed in 2002. I know not every US soldier are murders or rapists! But they have huge numbers and because of that, there will be bad apples as it wore. Not that Canada is perfect as we seen with Williams but different story.

In Cold Lake during Maple Flag every year a visiting US soldier or two are charged with rape. Or assault, Canadian locals wont go to our local bars during Maple Flag as its a gong show with them picking fights with Canadians.

I want to push to have this plan killed we cant trust them entirely to operate in good standing US forces cannot be commanded by foreign govt's as Canada is, so this agreement should be killed.

well, that bastard just made my life a whole lot more difficult and dangerous Thanks, dickface.

The US should turn him over to face Afghan justice.

NATO is puling out. By the end of next year. Maybe sooner given current evetns, but not much sooner.

My thoughts are with the parents and families of the murdered children.

Twelve of the dead were from Balandi, said Samad Khan, a farmer who lost all 11 members of his family, including women and children. Khan was away from the village when the incident occurred and returned to find his family members shot and burned. One of his neighbours was also killed, he said.

Wow....That is the worst thing that could ever happen to a person, I hope they let the Afghans have the soldier.

Four soldiers from a Stryker brigade out of Lewis-McChord, Washington, have been sent to prison in connection with the 2010 killings of three unarmed men during patrols in Kandahar province's Maiwand district, which is just northwest of Panjwai. They were accused of forming a "kill team" that murdered Afghan civilians for sport —- slaughtering victims with grenades and powerful machine guns during patrols, then dropping weapons near their bodies to make them appear to have been combatants.

ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog:
perhaps he should be handed over to the local authorities? This wasn't a combat operation...it was cold blooded murder.

Karazai called the attack
$1:
"an assassination" and demanded an explanation from the United States.

How the hell can they explain this? One of the dumber things he's said. It's like demanding he explain why allied servicemen have been murdered by Afghan soldiers and police. they were the actions of individuals, not state sanctioned operations. Maybe he should rethink his statements, because chances are, he'll be seeking asylum in the US once they pull out. That is, if other taliban factions don't get him first.

Remarks like that shouldn't come as any suprise given he's proven himself to be a giant piece of shit and is currently hanging on by a thread while trying to play both sides to the middle in the vain hope he can hang onto power.

I'm just hoping the US leaves him there long enough when they pull out so the people he's fucked over with his corrupt government can get a small measure of personal satisfaction and justice.

He'll probably get asylum in the West.

If Obama were to turn over a soldier to the Afghans so he could be tortured to death and then have the vermin play wuzloba with his corpse afterwards then the very least of Obama's worries would involve re-election.

And if this man is returned to the USA and is subjected to a military tribunal trial and is then sentenced to death there will be a backlash against Obama for not treating the terrorists at Gitmo the same way.

It is not a fun day to be Obama.

I'm fairly certain that this guy will be getting life in Ft. Leavenworth and won't ever see the light of day again. If he's that far gone he'll probably kill himself in his cell anyway. I don't see what responsibility President Obama has for any of this, even if the military tribunal does give the killer a death sentence. Like Nixon did with William Calley for My Lai, Obama or the next president will probably just commute the sentence to life or time served anyway. Regardless, anyone who gives into the mob like that freakshow in the comments section at FOX News shouldn't be president anyway.

This soldier must have been totally gone batshit to go after women and kids like that. If he'd shot a bunch of adult males it would have been one thing, but to massacre kids like that and then try to burn the bodies afterwards is something else altogether. It's not too far off from being at the totenkopf-SS level of pure evil insanity. A drone strike gone bad is one thing, but this episode is a genuine horror show.

Taliban vow revenge for Afghans killed by American soldier

Is because they want to kill more themselves?
