Or to put it another way, it's better to say little and let everyone think yer a fool, than open your mouth and prove you are.

Thinking on all of this I started to wonder something. A few years ago some "artist" had Jesus on a Cross covered in shit and called it art. All the libs rejoiced. What if someone filled a bucket full of shit and put the Koran in it and called it art. Would the libs rejoice all over again?

The above is a side note.

As many expected the guy in Fla. backed off and did not burn the Koran. He did try to save face and said something along the lines of. We were out to show how violtent muslims were and I think we proved it. I guess he means by all the threats that came about from his saying he was going to burn the Koran.

Hey, now that's an idea. Burn a few Korans and dance around the fire and call it Performance Art. Maybe that'll make it more acceptable to the western bleeding heart types?

There was a great leader in todays National Post about how we are now too busy in making we sure we don't offend Muslims that we have become afraid to even debate or challenge Islam in our own countries.

Thinking on the same frequency as Bart eh ? but then again you always have.

I cringed just reading that and is utterly tasteless and disrespectfull to the christian faith and myself find it disgusting and like I said earlier has nothing to do with art, just another attempt by some attention whore for his 5 minutes of fame and personally think their should be some kind of law to restrict such kind of desecrations of religious symbols.

Freedom of speech and expression is there but its obvious some people don't know how to use it and abuse it.

Free speech DD? Not anymore. Nobody dare say anything against Islam in the west.

From Fulford's article in the NP.

$1:
Many of us worry more about the rights of the Islamists than about preserving our own traditions. We set up human rights councils to protect Islamists from words they might find offensive.

The West now lacks the conviction our way of life needs and deserves defending. Is modern Western society, four or five centuries in the making, a unique collective achievement? Or is it simply one way of organizing society, neither better nor worse than others?

The attack by Islamists should have encouraged us to confront this question. Instead, we have done our best to avoid thinking about it.

It’s become clear free speech and free inquiry are among the chief targets of the Islamists. They have developed the term Islamophobia as a stick to shame their critics into silence. At the same time, Islamists and their sympathizers have devoted themselves to finding reasons to be enraged. In this pursuit what they call Islamophobia is their rhetorical ally.

Very True.

Now DD I'm not trying to set you up or start some sort of words war but I do have a serious question. Way back when Muslims used to pray towards Jerusilim (sp?) but now pray towards Meca why the change and what happened to cause the change do you know? I'm just curious and like I said not trying to start something.

I know it won't quell your curiosity, but no great event or war took place for that to happen. So i'll tell it as it is.

It literally happened during mid prayer as the prophet Muhammad received the revalation "Turn then Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque" and that mosque still exists today, know as the Masij al Qiblatain, liertally meaning the mosque with/of two Qiblahs ( direction which muslims pray )
