Nah, you got it arse about face tritium.
The Liberals lost seats and votes to the NDP because they have moved left of centre. People who vote NDP don't vote Tory.
The strong NDP showing, and the renewed brand that Layton has created, hurts the Liberals, who have been drifting more left for years.
It also ensure Tory seats with the split vote. Keep it up Jack layton!

Bring on Tobin, Kennedy, Rae, or (heaven help us) Ignatieff.
With any of those four as leader, the Libs will win the next election.

Nope, it's you that has a problem with the language of the bard. Easy stuff really. I apologise if you are an immigrant with a rudimentary grasp of our fine language. If you were born in English speaking Canada though what's the excuse for not understanding plain English? Oh, if you have mental health issues, I apologise again. It's rude to mock the afflicted.

As long as Jack layton carries on stealing Liberal votes, I remain cocky......and Bob Rae would double our seats in Ontario......please let it be so!

What the hell, did you even watch that video?? Do you agree that Conservatives are Right wing and Liberals are Left wing? As far as politics in Canada, maybe I'm wrong. When I was old enough to vote, I left the country. Now I am back and from a U.S. perspective... aaaah.. never mind.

Nope, didn't watch the video. I just stated simple fact, which I know is a new thing on your planet.
Now let’s try it again.
Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin.
Once upon a time the Liberals were more of a centrist party. They took votes from the right of centre parties. Then they moved left. So far left that they took in failed socialist leaders like Bob Rae.
Then they campaigned on green issues and wanted to bring in a carbon tax as North America moved into recession.
This moved them into NDP territory and the charismatic leader of the NDP came across way better than the stumbling Liberal leader, and the two fought for a chunk of the same votes. The car salesman guy did good.
Along came Steve. He ran a crap campaign which cost him a majority but he still added 18 more seats to the Tory count. Steve likes it now the NDP are strong and take votes from the Liberals. He’s Prime Minister again and nobody looks like they will steal his job for a very long time.
The End, for now!
Goodnight children!

CONS are toast next election, with the proviso that the Libs come up with a decent leader. Even with Dion (the Libs' equivalent of Joe Clark) as their chief opponent they couldn't score a decisive victory.

Nah, not toast unless Jack dies. As long as we have a strong NDP we Tories will have a Prime Minister. Stick that in your white poppy!
